Table of Contents

The Blue Light Card is the UK’s premier discount card exclusively for those who work in the emergency services, NHS, social care sector and armed forces. It provides members with incredible discounts across many businesses in the UK including discounts at Starbucks, Dominos. Currently and supposedly until the end of 2022, it also has a massive 10% discount on your shopping in Asda.

For this festive season, the Blue light card has announced some fantastic offers, deals and activities that their members can avail of all the way through Christmas and New Year. Below we’ll outline some of our favourite Blue Light Christmas offers.

How to get a blue light card

If you’re not already a Blue light Card member and you think you may be applicable for this card, then you can check their website to see if your current job or role qualifies. There is a small £4.99 charge for the card/membership and this is payable every 2 years. As this cost is easily recoverable with only a single discount offer, it makes sense to consider the card.

I am not affiliated with the Blue Light Card, but see plenty of positive reviews online about it and can see that there are some considerable savings/discounts available for its members.

Who qualifies?

To get a Blue Light Card you must work for a qualified “Blue Light” organisation. These include each of the organisations listed below. This list is not exhaustive and the qualification criteria may change a little, so please check out the website if you are interested in becoming a member.

  • 4×4 Response

There are amazing discounts on new smartphones, TVs and Galaxy Tabs with Samsung and even up to 40% off a selection of fantastic Garmin products including the Vivofit, Forerunner and Edge series.

Asda Blue Light Card discount

Recently Asda confirmed it would be keeping their 10% discount off selected purchases (including pretty much all your grocery shopping) until the end of 2022. It is unclear if this will be extended beyond December, but the discount will be available right up until the new year currently.

Recap

As you may have read in our previous article about the Blue Light Card, we’re huge fans of the real discounts it can provide including the savings to be had when doing your shopping at Asda.

Do check each online store away from the Blue Light Card discount also. At this time of year, many online stores have huge Black Friday Sales that can provide greater discount than the Blue Light Card. Unfortunately the majority of the time, these offers cannot be combined, so always check the small print.

Remember a discount is only a discount if you were already buying the items. Don’t let offers sway you into buying something you don’t need or have use for.
